The brake hose that attaches to the Golf’s caliper will often cause the brakes to stick. They may appear to be fine on the outside, but can break apart and collect debris on the inside. When this happens, it effectively traps pressure in the line. This keeps the brakes from releasing all of the way, and they stick as a result.
VW Golf Mk7 long-term reliability? - SLO76 : I’d have the Civic here although the Golf with the belt driven 1.4 TSi motor and a manual box is about as robust as VW’s get these days. They do suffer trim and electrical problems and slave and master cylinders are known weak points.
I had the Mk6 1.4 tsi DSG Match and now have the Mk7 1.4 tsi GT, my mileage is @ 10-12000miles/year and if your main consideration is economy/noise the petrol version is probably the way to go, based on your mileage. I find the petrol version is quieter and quicker than the diesel plus petrol is cheaper.
Top Answer. James B. January 5, 2021. The VW Golf Mk7 infotainment system problems are touch screen slow to respond and screen freezes. You will come into issues with the sound. The source could be from the stereo's speakers or a phone that is connected to the vehicle. Whatever the source, You will have to have these issues solved quickly.

Even the 1.4 tsi can do 0-60 in 8 seconds which isn't amazing but isn't no slouch either. Tl;dr The MK7 looks to be more reliable than the mk6 and comes with more tech and generally better features. The MK6 can be had for much less and is still a great car if you don't care about the new tech. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
